Great evidence here - One person and one letter from another person claiming torture. I like the way the Moroccan torturers told the victim that they were doing this because the President said that people were either with us or against us and they wanted to be with us and do what ever the U.S. wanted. Give me a break. That sounds like an actual real conversation that an interrogator would have with the prisoner - NOT. Maybe some people have forgotten that the Al Queda manuals found even before Sept 11 told their recruits to claim torture if they were ever captured. So sorry, but I’d like a little more proof. In addition, this alleged torture wasn’t even carried out by the U.S. We do not condone or systematically practice torture - period. Our military, CIA and FBI are made up of people from all different religions and political parties and our President doesn’t have the kind of power to make them all conform. One thing is without question, the Isamo fascists torture and behead people and there is evidence on tape. Why don’t you paranoid goofs focus on that.

Well apparently you believe the administration also, because they don’t deny those things that you mention from the WaPo article. In fact they are trying to get congress to lay out specifically what techniques are acceptable. They want it spelled out and clarified so that the people in the field know what is and is not acceptable. I guess you fall in with the crowd that doesn’t like that. It must be because you want to be able to criticize what ever is done. The things being done were not cooked up in Bush’s head - he’s not an interrogation expert. These techniques under question were used in the Military and CIA when Clinton was President and long before. But anyway - this video claims much more than warderboarding. There is no proof that this torture occurred and if it did that the U.S. knew it was happening or condoned it. As far as sleeping better, I don’t know how you live with yourself taking the word of terrorists and Foreign Governments over our citizens, especially when the Terrorists have shown how they would run society with the Taliban. They’ve also shown through video tape how they handle prisoners with torture and beheadings. I guess you lose more sleep over a handful of mistakes (assuming there have been some) but don’t have a care in the world about what would happen systematically and regularly if the terrorists take over in Iraq.

So, its not a Dem/Rep issue, but it seems to me that this video is questioning the Bush administration's denial of using torture, secret prisons etc. I'm not taking anything or everything said against Bush as "gospel", but Bush and his administration has, for a long time, denied the very existence of secret prisons, yet in the past ten days has announced that these very prisons (that we were told didn't exist) are being closed and that the prisoners that were in these non-existant prisons are being moved to Guantamo. Regardless of who hates who, or who's gullible, the Bush administration has just announced the closure of prisons that until now it has denied even existed. Am I imagining it, or could Can't Believe Her Rice and her friends have been lying? If they lied about the prisons existing, could they not possibly have been fibbing too, about what went on? If everything was great and happy there, why were the prisons hidden and secret and lied about? It seems healthy to ask questions about a lying goverment's activities, rather than act like programmed sheep.

Detour - I don’t know what you are talking about with your claim that the Bush administration has denied these prisons exist. I’ve never heard them do that. I have known about these prisons from the time they first started capturing high level people in Afghanistan. The administration told the press and the press reported as various people were being transferred out of the Country for interrogations. How you missed all of those stories, I don’t know. You must not watch a lot of news. Its one thing to disagree with the policy and it’s another to call people liars just because you don’t like their policy. It’s really sad how you people have to demonize everyone who disagrees with your politics. Don’t you have any friends that are Conservatives? Right now Bush is trying to get it clarified so it’s out in the open about what is acceptable and what isn’t. I’m not an interrogation expert and neither are you. I think it’s sad that people make this so political, that what ever is right has little chance of happening. No matter what we do and no matter what the rules are and no matter who is President, there will always be individuals who will break those rules. There will always be mistakes made. With the size of our government it is impossible not to have mistakes made in everything it does. Just because some mistakes may be made and some individual criminal acts may occur, that doesn’t make us equivalent to Fidel Castro, the Taliban, or Terrorists who do things systematically and as standard practice.
