"I'M LEARNING TO BE A SOLDIER SO I CAN GO KILL"

Almost three weeks ago I posted a video mashup poking fun at President Bush's laughable hyperbole concerning the dire situation in Darfur. Unfortunately the front page of today's L.A. Times confirms "that despite diplomatic efforts to reach peace, the conflict is only getting worse -- and has spread beyond Darfur." According to the article, an estimated 50,000 people have already been driven from their villages in Chad. Perhaps when another 50,000 people are driven from their homes or killed, the President will convene a press conference on the White House lawn and state for the umpteenth time since September, 2001 that his "administration is deeply committed, deeply committed" to peace. In the meantime, more and more teenagers like Gamar Ahmed Aden who stated, "I'm learning to be a soldier so I can go kill the janjaweed" will be recruited into the fight.
