This video takes you to a place when trains were filled with art and certain writers were viewed as "KINGS". One of these "KINGS" was BLADE and Lynn Lane was lucky enough to talk with him for a few minutes during the painting of one of his pieces this summer at 5 Pointz: An Institution for Higher Burning during a shoot for the forthcoming SKILLZ DVD Magazine. To give you an idea about who BLADE was in the scheme of NYC Graffiti Writers, here's a short excerpt describing the man himself.

"This is a documentary that I started early May of 2005. I shot this on July 4, 2005 and I couldn't wait for the sunset. That day I had gone to the beach and rushed over to 5 Pointz to get a shot of this incredible writer doing her thing."
Lynn Lane says "This interview was shot at "5 POINTZ: An Institution of Higher Burning" (Graffiti Museum in NYC). The event going off was "Old Timers' Day" and the legends were out in full force. My project SKILLZ DVD Magazine was there in full effect talking with all the Old School Graf Writers. This short clip captures a moment with Graffiti Legend: FARGO. He began his career in 1973 writing on the trains and still writes today. Sit back and enjoy a trip back in time with FARGO."

A new Irish Graffiti film has been released entitled 'The Bridge Fire'. It’s produced by Cork man Ned. Taking 18 months to produce, the 53 minute film was shot in Drogheda, Co. Louth, between July 31st and August 2nd 2004. “The film does not employ any formal narration in order to explain itself, but instead allows the combination of music and images to tell the story.” Watch the video trailer here http://www.lioniproductions.com/video/trailer.wmv “Sorry, we’ve never heard of it” The Irish Times!! For further information http://www.lioniproductions.com I believe this to be the first Irish graffiti video project of its kind (I am open to correction on this) and hopefully the start of many more! Although one has to purchase it on DVD (low cost) to view it, it has all the hallmarks of a D.I.Y. project and therefore should be supported. ____________________________________________________________ Another Related Link http://www.bridgejam.tk Drogheda - The Bridge Graffiti Jam - Images “The Bridge jam is about young people from all walks of life, cultures, creeds and colour coming together with their common bond of graffiti and hip hop culture and using their energy in a positive way producing breathtaking murals,
We invited writer AKIM from "Jazzstylecorner Berlin" to draw the visuals with the Tagtool. The stage was built completely out of several bigger and smaller white cubes to have a large and lively space for projections. We also worked with pre-produced video loops for the Red Bull Music Academy session that took place before Kool Keith's show.
