Before Mel Gibson's name is forever synonymous with anti-semite and Ari Emanuel demands his extraction from his career and livelihood, lets look into a few possibilities; like maybe he is terribly upset at the killing, maiming, and destruction of Lebanese children, their parents and the entire country, and how the American Media refuses to address the realistic issues and solutions; and in doing so, is leading to the brink of global disaster? Then in a drunken stupor he blurts venomous words of anger and frustration in a generic and racist fashion? Words that we have all used against one group of people or another, in a fit of rage! Does it make it right? of course not? Does it make Mel Gibson a anti-semetic? Doubtful! Is is it possible and maybe more productive, that we look into the realties around us, that might help save lives and prevent real anti-semitism from spreading! It would seem that our silence, denial, and refusal to recognize the colonial aspirations of Israeli and American leaders, is far more dangerous than Mel Gibson's drunken tirade; for which he profusely apologized for, and should! Just as the Israeli leadership does so daily, for the killing of innocent Lebanese children, women, and men! But, where are are the true seeds for the potential of anti-semitism, being sowed?
The images in this film were taken by soldiers, medical personal, and journalists They had been collected and passed around Iraq, for the purpose of sharing information and documenting the events of the war. The collection of images were given to me by a surgeon for the US, who has been in Iraq for two years, with his request to have them seen, by the public. Do not think of this as a music video! This news footage, that the American public has been stripped of, and denied access to, is real! There are thousands of lives being lost because of the white washing of the realities of this invasion, both from the false claims that lead to the invasion, and the manipulation of media since! The audio is meant as a narration of a soldier sharing his experience, and asking for help, forgiveness, and understanding! Now if our leaders would take the same responsibility? We might find a roadmap to peace! Oh yeah and I wrote and recorded the song
A plea for peace. Ashton Jones, an American troubadour sings an updated version he amended of the Barry Maquire song, "EVE OF DESTRUCTION. "My guitar, voice and words are my weapons of peace! As an American Jew, I stand up and say, I do not support these outrageous and inhuman actions! There is no road to peace through violence............. nor blind faith or complacency!
