The sixth version of the LEGO Great Ball Contraption at BrickFest '05. The idea: develop a Mindstorms/Technic creation (not competition) in which people of all building levels can participate. Each person can build one (or more) module(s). All modules will be assembled to form a large "Rube Goldberg "-ish bucket-brigade type contraption.
This project is a vision-based teleoperation system that allows a user to draw using the PUMA. The project uses vision-based tracking and feature detection to identify color and position. The user holds one of two colored balls, either red or green, and the robot draws the same color line while following the path of the ball as moved by the user.
P.E.A.R.T. stands for Pneumatic and Electronic Actuated RoboT. P.E.A.R.T. is a robot that is made to be set up in front of any drum set and play the drums with any MIDI file as the input. It is capable of running 16 separate drum channels, with each drum capable of being hit up to 19 times per second (which sounds pretty awesome on a bass drum by the way).
